Ayah Abusamaha
Registered Social Worker, BSW, MSW, RSW
Hi, I’m Ayah Abusamaha, a Registered Social Worker (BSW, MSW, RSW) with experience supporting individuals, children, youth, and families as they navigate the ups and downs of life, relationships, and emotional well-being.
My work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I recognize that each person brings their own unique experiences, cultural background, and strengths into therapy. I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and working toward meaningful change.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is collaborative, person-centred, trauma-informed, and grounded in an anti-oppressive lens. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), tailoring therapy to each client’s individual needs, goals, and pace.
I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of the healing process. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and understood, while recognizing the impact that culture, identity, relationships, and lived experiences can have on emotional well-being.
Together, we can work toward understanding emotions, developing effective coping strategies, strengthening relationships, building self-confidence, and navigating life’s challenges in a way that feels meaningful to you.
